Mackenzie E. Clark focuses her practice on advising employers on compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws and representing employers in workplace disputes.
Mackenzie handles a wide variety of employment matters and helps employers establish and update policies and procedures, including those related to hiring and onboarding, disciplinary actions and termination procedures, leave administration, and other workplace issues. She also conducts workplace investigations and employee training.
Before joining Bodman, Mackenzie was an associate attorney at another Michigan-based law firm where she counseled Taft-Hartley Fund employers on compliance with federal law and assisted them with benefits administration. She also assisted clients in understanding federal labor and employment statutes, including ERISA, FMLA, RLSA, and NLRA.
As a law student, Mackenzie was a law clerk for a personal injury law firm and prepared pleadings for personal injury, auto, and no-fault cases. Mackenzie also served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Terrence Berg of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She was the symposium director for the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review and was a senior member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates. She also served as the Student Bar Association Secretary.
