Bodman PLC is pleased to share that Patti DeFauw, Michael Powell, and Tabitha Taylor-Vasser have been honored as members of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Unsung Heroes” Class of 2024.
According to Lawyers Weekly, “Unsung Heroes” honorees have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes. This award is reserved for the state’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals, from firm administrators to legal marketing to paralegals.
DeFauw is the accounts payable manager and is based in the firm’s Detroit office. She has been with Bodman for over 40 years and tirelessly works to ensure that all incoming invoices and expenses are paid timely and in compliance with all internal firm policies. DeFauw also assisted with the installation and implementation of Chrome River software for expense reporting and keeps an eye open for other technology that could be beneficial to the accounting processes.
Powell is the information services director in the firm’s Detroit office. He oversees Bodman’s Information Services Department and manages a team of three. For years, he has been Bodman’s go-to person for any difficult or unusual research questions and he is committed to always being able to find an answer. Powell is also responsible for the conflict review process at the firm.
Vasser is an administrative assistant in the firm’s Detroit office. She has been with Bodman for more than 25 years and currently provides administrative support to six attorneys and manages the firm’s asbestos litigation matters. Vasser is active in the community, serving as the executive director of Jive Turkeys Detroit, a non-profit organization that works year-round to provide over 3,000 local families with meals for the Thanksgiving holiday.
