Four Bodman Attorneys Selected for Crain’s 2024 Notable Women in Law

Bodman PLC is pleased to share that four attorneys have been listed in Crain’s 2024 Notable Women in Law.
Lindsay M. Cummings and Monica J. Stover were selected for the Crain’s Grand Rapids Business publication and Celeste E. Arduino and Kelly M. Burnell were selected for the Crain’s Detroit Business publication.
This year’s Notables “class” includes women who are pushing their profession forward through nationally recognized expertise, rare certifications, mentorship, and public service.
Arduino is the co-chair of Bodman’s Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing Practice Group and is based in the firm’s Troy office. She counsels nonprofits, including family foundations, public charities, religious organizations, and other tax-exempt and charitable organizations, on securing and retaining exempt status, advising on corporate governance issues, and counseling on general operational matters. She is an advisor to the board of directors for Vista Maria, a non-profit that provides innovative care, support, treatment, and education to vulnerable youth. Arduino was listed in Michigan Lawyers Weekly “Women in the Law” in 2020 and was named the American Bar Association Outstanding Young Nonprofit Lawyer in 2017. Burnell is the co-chair of Bodman’s High Net Worth Practice Group and is based in the firm’s Detroit office. She advises clients on estate planning, trust and estate administration, wealth transfer and tax planning matters, and the formation and administration of private foundations. Burnell is a member of the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Metropolitan Detroit and the Washtenaw Estate Planning Council. She is also a member of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation Network of Professional Advisors which educates and navigates clients through the process of making strategic philanthropic decisions. Cummings is a member of Bodman’s High Net Worth Practice Group and is based in the Firm’s Grand Rapids office. She is an established estate planning and business lawyer who helps clients protect personal and business assets and transfer that wealth from generation to generation. Cummings serves on the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) Elder Law Advisory Board and co-plans the group’s annual seminar on drafting estate planning documents. She also serves on the long-range planning and fundraising committees at Ada Christian School. Cummings has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America under Trusts and Estates and Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law and is a Grand Rapids Magazine “Top Lawyer” for Trusts & Estates. Stover is a member of Bodman’s Intellectual Property and Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice groups and is based in the Firm’s Grand Rapids office. She helps businesses and creative individuals manage and protect their intellectual property portfolios and advises them on trademark, copyright, trade dress, advertising, trade secret, and unfair competition issues, as well as on the related areas of advertising and marketing law. Stover is the co-founder of the Grand Rapids Women’s IP Forum (GRIP), which gathers over 70 Western Michigan women attorneys to discuss hot topics in the intellectual property space. She is also a trustee board member for the Bissell Pet Foundation and helps with fundraising efforts and the marketing of notable events like the Empty the Shelter program, the nation’s largest funded pet adoption event.
