Bodman Selected for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s In the Lead: Best Women-Led Law Firms
10/25/24
Bodman PLC is pleased to share that it has been selected for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2024 special edition, “In the Lead: Best Women-Led Law Firms.”
The special edition recognizes law firms that are led by women and demonstrate a record of promoting DE&I efforts designed to help women attorneys thrive professionally and diversify the profession.
Carrie Leahy became chair of Bodman in January 2020 and was, at the time, the only woman chair of a major Michigan law firm. As chair, Leahy almost immediately faced the innumerable obstacles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, Bodman has emerged as an even stronger and more client-focused firm. Today, with more than 170 attorneys, Bodman continues to thrive under Leahy’s leadership, adding key practices and attracting talented attorneys who serve clients across the country and around the globe. Lawyers Weekly also noted that Bodman has ten female practice group leaders and many others who chair firm management committees and serve in leadership roles with professional and charitable organizations.
Leahy concentrates her practice in corporate and business law. She counsels both established and emerging businesses on general corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, compliance with securities regulations, and issues involving venture capital funding. In 2021, Crain’s Detroit Business honored Leahy as one of Michigan’s 100 Most Influential Women. DBusiness magazine has twice listed her among Detroit’s 500 Most Powerful Business Leaders.
