Bodman PLC Attorney David M. Hempstead inducted in Wayne Law Alumni Wall of Fame

Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that David M. Hempstead, Member at the Detroit office was inducted into the Wayne State University Law School Alumni Wall of Fame.
The Wayne Law Alumni Wall of Fame Award is the highest honor awarded by the Law School and is given to either alumni who have distinguished themselves by contributions made in their particular field of work or in the betterment of humanity, or to former faculty and staff who have had a significant impact on the Law School.
“No one is more deserving of a spot on Wayne Law’s Wall of Fame than Dave Hempstead,” said Larry R. Shulman, Bodman’s incoming chairman and a long-time colleague and friend of Hempstead. “Dave has been a consummate leader at Bodman and a consummate alumnus of Wayne Law for decades. We are thankful for the close relationship Bodman has with Wayne Law and the central role that Dave played in fostering that relationship.”
In addition to his role as leader of Bodman’s very successful High Net Worth Practice Group and as the firm’s Vice Chairman for many years, Dave has served and continues to serve on many Board of Directors for the non-profit community, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, The Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, Henry Ford Health System, Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan and the Wayne State University Board of Visitors. Hempstead has been a significant contributor to the success of the Law School, serving as co-chair of a recent highly successful capital campaign.
In honor of Hempstead, Bodman established the David M. Hempstead Scholarship Fund at the Wayne State University Law School. The scholarships are available to incoming Wayne Law students who attended; Detroit public high school, underperforming Michigan high schools, historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions.
