Bodman Initiates Mansfield Certification Process
08/24/22
Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that the firm is participating in the year-long Mansfield Rule certification process facilitated by Diversity Lab.
The goal of Mansfield is to increase diversity in law firm leadership through a data-driven method that embeds accountability, transparency, and knowledge
sharing into law firm talent attraction, retention, and promotion practices.
The recently released 2022 version of Mansfield certification – known as Mansfield Rule 6.0 – is aimed at improving the process when considering lateral hires and future leaders with the ultimate goal of increasing the overall representation of diverse attorneys within the firm and of those who lead the firm.
“The Mansfield Certification Program aligns perfectly with our longstanding commitment to become a more diverse and inclusive firm,” said Bodman Chair Carrie Leahy. “In addition to participating in the Mansfield Certification Program, we have hired a manager of DEI and talent to enhance our focus on attracting and retaining diverse talent and to mentor and encourage all individuals to become great leaders within our firm.”
To achieve Mansfield certification, participating firms are required to adopt and adhere to specific requirements, including considering a slate of at least 30% underrepresented talent when appointing or electing firm leaders, promoting members to equity status, hiring senior-level laterals, selecting attorneys to participate in client pitch teams, and more.
