Bodman Admits Eight New Members

Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that Mary E. Cebula, Sarah J. Gabis, Holly A. Hubert, John J. (Jack) Kelly, Adomas N. Rauckis, Cameron D. Ritsema, Monica J. Stover, and Carrie E. Trimpe have been admitted as members of the firm.
Gabis and Stover were previously senior attorneys, and Cebula, Hubert, Kelly, Rauckis, Ritsema, and Trimpe were previously senior associates with Bodman.
Cebula practices in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office and is a member of the Business and Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice groups. She advises clients in a broad range of corporate legal matters, including formation and structuring, corporate governance, general operational contracting and contract negotiation, intellectual property matters, employment issues, debt and equity financing, and sale transactions. She also has experience in guiding women-owned businesses with the WBENC, WBE, and WOSB certification processes.
Before joining Bodman as an associate attorney, she was a member of the firm’s summer associate program. She has since been listed in Michigan Rising Stars under Business/Corporate and was recognized on the 2023 State Bar of Michigan A Law Helps Pro Bono Honor Roll. Cebula is a cum laude graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University, summa cum laude.
Gabis practices in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office and is a member of the Municipal Law and Government Relations Practice Group. She has over 15 years of experience helping public entities address a wide variety of municipal issues including zoning and land use enforcement, development agreements, police departments, sewer and water infrastructure, public-private partnerships, mobile home park development and regulation, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) questions, Open Meetings Act matters, intergovernmental agreements, annexation, and Act 425 matters.
She is on the Board of Directors for the Ridgedale Players Community Theater, one of the oldest community theaters in Michigan. Gabis is listed in DBusiness Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” for Municipal Law. She is a cum laude graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law and received her undergraduate and Master of Social Work degrees from Michigan State University.
Hubert is based in Bodman’s Detroit office and is a member of the Data Privacy and Security and Enterprise Procurement practice groups and the Artificial Intelligence team. She represents business clients in connection with a variety of commercial transactions, including the drafting and negotiation of vendor contracts for a broad range of goods and services.
She is active in several professional organizations including the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the American Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. Hubert is a graduate of The University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law, received her LL.M. in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy summa cum laude from Albany Law School, and holds two undergraduate degrees from Wayne State University.
Kelly is located in Bodman’s Troy office and is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. He represents businesses and financial institutions in connection with commercial and industrial real estate transactions and in real estate finance matters. He also represents individual clients in connection with the purchase and sale of significant personal residences.
Before joining Bodman as an associate, Kelly served as a member of the firm’s summer associate program. In law school, he served as a judicial extern to Hon. Robert E. Gordon of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District and worked for a year with Legal Help for Veterans. Kelly is a cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, cum laude.
Rauckis practices in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office and is a member of the Business Practice Group. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters, public securities offerings, and venture capital financing. He previously worked at an AmLaw 100 law firm where he served as lead attorney on venture capital financing transactions, drafting transaction documents, and guiding startup companies through the due diligence and close phases.
He is a magna cum laude graduate of Wayne State University Law School and received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University. At law school, Rauckis received the Edward H. Rackow Scholarship from the Federal Bar Association which honors students who demonstrate outstanding scholarly achievement in securities, operations, or business law. He also served legal internships with Tata Motors in Pune, India and with the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel in Detroit.
Ritsema is based in Bodman’s Grand Rapids office and is a member of the Workplace Law Practice Group. He frequently counsels employers on issues related to union relations and union avoidance, Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and other wage and hour laws, Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
He previously served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ritsema speaks to business and professional groups on a variety of employment law topics such as traditional labor law, ADA, FMLA, wage and hour, paid sick time, and sexual harassment. He is a graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University, cum laude.
Stover practices in Bodman’s Grand Rapids office and is a member of the Intellectual Property and Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice groups. She helps businesses and creative individuals manage and protect their intellectual property portfolios and advises them on trademark, copyright, trade dress, advertising, trade secret, and unfair competition issues, as well as on the related areas of advertising and marketing law.
She is a co-founder of the Grand Rapids Intellectual Property Women’s Forum (GRIP), which holds quarterly events for women involved in IP in the Grand Rapids area to learn about and discuss various Intellectual Property topics. She is a trustee board member for the Bissell Pet Foundation. Stover is a cum laude graduate of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
Trimpe is based in Bodman’s Grand Rapids office and is a member of the High Net Worth Practice Group. She focuses her practice on estate planning, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, probate and trust administration, and probate and trust litigation. She has represented corporate clients in connection with business formation and organizational issues, drafting and reviewing transactional documents, advising on legal compliance, and advising on business succession planning, among other areas.
