Bodman Adds Six New Associates

Bodman PLC is pleased to share that Reem S. Aburukba, Yasmine H. Choucair, Carson V. Garguilo, Tatianna A. Gore, Grace N. Heidorn, and Tara L. Zrepskey have joined the firm as associate attorneys.
Garguilo, Gore, Heidorn, and Zrepskey are based in the Detroit office and Aburukba and Choucair in the Troy office. All six new associates participated in Bodman’s 2023 summer associate program.
Aburukba is an associate in Bodman’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. She represents clients involved in commercial litigation matters.
Aburukba is a graduate of University of Michigan Law School and also received her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of Michigan. As a law student, she served as a law clerk for the Hon. Tracy Van den Bergh of the Washtenaw County Trial Court. In this role, she conducted legal research to complete judicial orders and opinions, reviewed pleadings, motions, and legal briefs filed by parties, and drafted ex parte orders and judgments. She was also a student attorney for the Michigan Innocence Clinic and investigated claims of innocence for her assigned clients.
Choucair is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. She represents businesses and financial institutions in connection with commercial and industrial real estate transactions and in real estate finance matters.
Choucair graduated from University of Michigan Law School and received her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan-Dearborn with high distinction. In law school, she served as a student attorney for The University of Michigan’s Human Trafficking Clinic and Lab, the first clinical law program solely dedicated to the issue of human trafficking. She also participated in the Slavery and The Built Environment Problem Solving Initiative, where she traveled to Yale University as a dual-enrolled student to investigate the impact of forced labor on architectural practices and develop innovative approaches to commemorating historical injustices.
Garguilo is an associate in the firm’s Banking Practice Group. She focuses her practice on representing financial institutions in connection with commercial loan originations.
She graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law and received her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan-Dearborn. During law school, she was a member of Michigan State Law Review and served on the Editorial Board as an articles editor. Garguilo was a student attorney at the Alvin L. Storrs Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic for two semesters where she assisted low-income clients with a variety of city, state, and federal tax-related issues. She also spent a summer working as a law clerk for a Michigan-based law firm that focused on employment and municipal law matters.
Gore is an associate in Bodman’s Enterprise Procurement Group. She represents business clients in connection with a variety of commercial transactions, including the drafting and negotiation of vendor contracts for a broad range of goods and services.
Gore graduated from Wayne State University Law School and also received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State. As a law student, she was president of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and treasurer of the Wayne Law Diversity Coalition. She was also a research assistant for Professor Heather Walter-McCabe, assisting with research regarding laws affecting the LGBTQ+ community.
Heidorn is an associate in the firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. She represents clients involved in complex commercial litigation matters.
Heidorn graduated cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law and received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. During law school, she served as a prosecuting and appellate intern at the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office where she drafted numerous motions, managed her personal docket of cases, and frequently appeared on the record, including acting as the lead attorney in a bench trial.
Zrepskey is an associate in the Business and Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing practice groups. She represents a variety of corporate clients in connection with the structuring and negotiation of complex transactions and on general organizational and business matters.
Zrepskey graduated magna cum laude from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from Oakland University, summa cum laude. While in law school, she interned with the Michigan Supreme Court under Justice Brian K. Zahra. She also was an executive notes editor for the Detroit Mercy Law Review and was the 2L class representative and 1L class representative of the Student Bar Association.
