Matthew Slipchuk is a member of Bodman’s Business Practice Group. He represents business clients in connection with complex transactions and general corporate matters.
He has particular experience advising on the tax aspects of merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions.
Matthew also advises clients on regulatory trade and compliance matters including import activities, proper classification of merchandise, correct valuation, and regulatory restrictions and exemptions, and on export controls and compliance with regulatory restrictions related thereto.
Matthew also provides business and tax planning services related to complex business transactions and operations for both public and closely-held businesses. Specifically, Matthew has extensive experience with buy-side tax due diligence, transactional structuring, and other complex tax issues, related to M&A transactions.
Before joining Bodman he practiced as a senior associate in the Chicago office of a global accounting firm where he represented large corporate clients and private equity firms as a transactional tax advisor. He participated in transactions ranging in size from $25 million to $24 billion involving businesses in the healthcare, defense, SaaS, and general manufacturing industries, among others.
As a law student, Matthew served as a summer extern with the City of Chicago Law Department and as a law clerk with two Chicago-area business law firms. As a 3L he was President of the DePaul University School of Law Student Bar Association.
