Attorney Stephen J. Staple Joins Bodman PLC

Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that Stephen J. Staple has joined the firm as a senior associate attorney based in the Grand Rapids office. Staple is a member of Bodman’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group.

He represents business clients in litigation matters at the trial and appellate levels and in other dispute resolution proceedings. His clients have included corporations, financial institutions, insurers, and municipal entities.

He has appeared in courts throughout Michigan and participated in mediation and case evaluation proceedings involving insurance coverage issues, personal injury, fraud, and real estate. He has represented a major title insurance company in claims cases involving mortgage priority disputes, boundary line disputes, and competing ownership claims.

Before joining Bodman, Staple practiced for five years with a highly respected business law firm in the Grand Rapids and Battle Creek markets.

Staple is a magna cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law where he served as associate editor of the Michigan State Law Review.  He served as a research extern with the Michigan Court of Appeals Research Division and as a judicial extern to the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Grand Rapids. He earned multiple academic awards including the Jurisprudence Achievement Awards for Advanced Legal Research and for Research, Writing and Advocacy II. He was a Dean King Scholar in recognition of high academic achievement and a finalist in the Research, Writing and Advocacy Best Brief Competition.
