Overview

Mr. Peters is a member of Bodman’s Business Practice Group and Automotive and Industrial Team. He routinely represents a variety of clients in mergers and acquisitions, including both public and private companies.

His transactions include purchases and sales of entire businesses, as well as subsidiaries and divisions, in a range of industries, including automotive, infrastructure, insurance, telecommunications, and life sciences. Mr. Peters also provides counsel regarding securities regulation and securities law compliance matters, and has represented issuers in initial public and private securities offerings, including high-yield debt offerings and demutualizations.

Mr. Peters has extensive experience acting as general counsel to several private equity portfolio companies, including representation of Key Plastics L.L.C. during the restructuring of its European operations, as well as continuing to provide counsel on day-to-day business and commercial issues. He also regularly advises clients regarding international transactions.

While a partner at another large local firm, Mr. Peters was recognized as Member of the Year by World Services Group, an international legal and business referral network.

DBusiness magazine named Mr. Peters a “Top Lawyer” in Commercial, M&A and Securities Law for 2020. He is listed in Chambers USA 2020 under Corporate/M&A and Michigan Super Lawyers 2019 under Business/Corporate. He is the immediate past chair of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
