Mr. Parkinson is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. His practice includes a broad range of real estate matters, including commercial real estate purchase and sales, landlord and tenant representation in commercial office leasing, and loan transactions.
Mr. Parkinson has practiced real estate law for over 30 years, ranging from maintaining a sole practice to working for two of the largest law firms in the country. In the early years of his career, he practiced with several large Chicago area law firms. More recently, Mr. Parkinson has been of counsel with an Ann Arbor-area firm where, in his transaction-based practice, he focused on a broad range of corporate, real estate, and commercial lending matters, with additional experience gained in environmental, land use, and beverage and hospitality licensing laws.
In conjunction with his legal practice, Mr. Parkinson has worked as a real estate professional for more than 25 years. He has worked as a real estate developer, green builder, broker, investor, and investment advisor, co-founding four different firms working in the real estate field in the states of Michigan and Illinois.
He is president emeritus of the board of The Ecology Center in Ann Arbor, a non-profit environmental organization working to provide innovative solutions for a healthy planet and healthier people.
